In 1921, Albert Iandoli and his brother, young Italian immigrants, opened their first market on Grafton Street. The family became one of the first to receive a full liquor license after Prohibition ended. In 1951, Albert's sons opened their landmark store at 345 Grafton Street in the old A&P building at Billings Square Rotary.
The Iandolis expanded throughout Worcester County and beyond, operating supermarkets under names like Iandoli's, Food Village, and Food World. From the mid-1960s to early 1980s, they were Worcester County's top-selling grocery chain. Shaw's Supermarkets purchased the chain in 1987, but the family kept the Grafton Street location, transforming it into Iandoli Package Store.
In the 1970s, the family purchased the WCIS building at Orient and Grafton, expanding the liquor store and creating what's now known as Iandoli Plaza. The store remained family-operated until 2006, with William Iandoli (former owner of Austin Liquors) at the helm.
After a brief period as Renaissance Wine and Spirits (2006-2012), William and Sylvia Kiritsy acquired the business in 2011. In 2012, they rebranded it Olympic Wine & Liquors—combining their love of sports with their Greek heritage.
Today, we're proud to continue this legacy, serving our community with the same commitment to quality and service that's defined this corner for nearly a century.
